Sprint + Android = New Google Phone

Sprint, the thrid largest U.S. wireless company is now considering to offer Google based Android phones within the next year. “We believe in the vision for Android, so we want to see it get bigger and get healthy,” Kevin Packingham, Sprint’s vice president of products and devices, said yesterday in an interview. “We can, when the timing’s right, pull the trigger.” Sprint has lost nearly 3 million customers and desperately needs something to compete with rivals AT&T and Verizon. Currently Sprint has 50.5 million customers and would be the largest U.S. carrier to release a phone using Android. I think this is a must for Sprint to start gaining market share in the cell phone market.  If the research and development team would focus on a google phone I believe they could easily release something to top the HTC T-Mobile G1.
